Rick Henham
Rick Henham's GalleryAlluding to classical form but with contemporary design appeal, Rick’s wire neck vases are available in either a black or white glaze and utilize both fine and coarse stoneware clays. These vases which are thrown and turned reveal a textured surface quality for the black pots and a silky smooth finish for the white ones.
Stainless steel wire collars fashioned onto the vases post-firing contrast with both types of vase combining with their round shapes and clean lines to produce a striking visual impact. Each item is individually made and no two pieces are alike.
Experience of silver jewellery making encouraged the impulse to mix materials which has gradually developed into the present body of work.
