Euan Craig

Born Melbourne, Australia


Euan graduated from Bendigo TAFE College of Art and Design and moved to Japan in 1990. A year later he apprenticed to Sensei Tatsuzo Shimaoka.


He has had several solo exhibitions and established a kiln and studio in Mashiko in 1994.


Euan has a Japanese wife and has become fluent in the Japanese language.


Nowadays he has a kiln just outside Mashiko, in Ichihana, where he makes wood-fired stoneware using grasses and rice straw to decorate the glazed and unglazed surfaces.
